ABOUT IRON PLAINS POWERLIFTING

Iron Plains Powerlifting exists to grow the sport of powerlifting across western Nebraska, eastern Colorado, western Kansas, South Dakota, and Wyoming - a region where powerlifting barely has a presence.

We're not a coaching service.

We're not a training program.

We're not here to make money.

Iron Plains is a grassroots resource hub for anyone curious about powerlifting, strength training, or equipped lifting. We exist to make people aware that this sport exists, to answer questions, to connect lifters with resources, and to build a culture of strength in communities that need it.

Whether you're a complete beginner wondering how to start powerlifting, a raw lifter curious about equipped lifting, or someone who just wants to get stronger - Iron Plains is here as a resource, a cheerleader, and a connector to the broader powerlifting community.

We host and support powerlifting meets, organize seminars with elite lifters, and create opportunities for people to discover what powerlifting can do for them. The merch we sell funds this mission - nothing more, nothing less.

This is 100% love of the sport. We want people to love powerlifting the way we do. We want them to discover what they're capable of. We want to grow this sport from the ground up across the entire region.

ABOUT TIM SWANSON

Tim Swanson is a husband, dad, and proud grandfather. He competes in equipped powerlifting, and his wife trains right alongside him. He founded Iron Plains Powerlifting because he wants his granddaughter - and everyone else in western Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, South Dakota, and Wyoming - to see what strength training can do for them.

He started Iron Plains because in his town of 25,000 people, maybe three lifters exist. Most people don't know what conjugate training is. Most have never heard of equipped powerlifting. Hell, most don't even know powerlifting is a sport.

Tim isn't a coach. He isn't a trainer. He doesn't own a gym. And he's not trying to monetize anything.

He's a resource. A cheerleader. Someone who will answer your questions about powerlifting or connect you with people who can. He's deeply connected to the equipped powerlifting community across the United States - from Trigger Warning in western Nebraska to Narbell Barbell in Kansas to teams across Colorado, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

His mission is pure altruism: make people aware of powerlifting, get them excited about strength training, support their journey, and help feed the pipeline from raw lifting locally to equipped lifting regionally.

If you've got questions about how to start powerlifting, where to find a coach, what equipment you need, or how meets work - reach out. Tim's here to help you figure it out.
